Residents and businesses who are on City water will receive the following notice in their March utility bills regarding utility payment convenience fees.
Effective April 21, 2025, utility payments made with a credit card will be subject to a credit card fee of 3% of the total bill plus $0.65. This fee is imposed by the credit card processing company and is not retained by the City of Cañon City. This fee is imposed in person, online, or utilizing our pay-by-phone system.
Electronic checks will be subject to a $2 convenience fee. This fee is imposed by the processor and is not retained by the City of Cañon City. This convenience fee is imposed online or utilizing our pay-by-phone system.
Payments made using cash or paper checks are not subject to any fees.
If you sign up for autopay online using your bank account or credit card, your payments will be subject to the convenience fee of 3%. To avoid paying this convenience fee, you may set up autopay through the City’s Utility Billing Department. This autopay will occur on the 20th of the month and may only be through your bank account.
