The City of Cañon City would like to invite the community to two public meetings at City Hall in November with the Office of the Colorado Utility Consumer Advocate (UCA) and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
On Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Joseph Pereira, Deputy Director of the UCA, and his staff will present a session on how to give effective public comments. Food and drink will be provided. This session is in preparation for the Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Public Comment Hearing before the PUC regarding Black Hills Energy's proposed 18% rate increase.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the PUC invites community members to provide comments regarding the Black Hills Energy’s rate case proposal. Black Hills is required to seek approval from the PUC to raise customer rates. The Company’s proposed increase–an annual revenue increase of approximately $37 million–would affect both residential and commercial rates.
For more information on the proposed changes to Black Hills customers (Rate Proposal 24AL-0275E) and to provide comments online, visit the PUC’s website at https://puc.colorado.gov/key-proceedings.
