[ARCHIVED] Wrap Up of Storm Debris Pick Up

Map of Lakeside Cemetery showing are to drop off tree limbs and branches.

City crews have been working nearly full time for the past two weeks cleaning up storm debris from the early March snowstorm.

As of April 15th, every street in the City has been cleaned up at least once since the April 1st deadline to have branches out for pick up, except for a few streets in the north end of Dawson Ranch, which are expected to be finished this week. To date, crews have removed and disposed of an estimated 7,000 Cubic Yards of storm damage debris from within the City limits.

In the next few weeks during the run-up towards Blossom Festival and summer festivities, City Public Works Department crews will be pulled off from brush pick up and reassigned. Anyone that still has brush on their street aside from those few areas mentioned earlier has missed their pick up window and will need to dispose of the brush by other means. The City has a few options available to assist with this effort:

  • There are a limited number of Cañon Proud vouchers (180 vouchers as of April 15) still available at City Hall that allow for disposal of up to 500 pounds of debris at the landfill at no cost. These are given on a first come first serve basis and are valid at Twin Enviro’s “Phantom Canyon” landfill until April 30, 2024.
  • The City will host a second drop-off event where residents can drop off their brush at Lakeside Cemetery on Saturday, April 20th from 9AM – 3PM. Only brush and limbs will be accepted at the drop-off site, no commercial haulers.
