2A 9th Street Construction

The City is getting ready to reconstruct North 9th Street.

City Notices & Updates Posted on October 30, 2025

North 9th Street from Mystic Avenue to Washington Street is planned to be fully reconstructed in the upcoming months. A preliminary project to relocate existing water infrastructure between Raintree Drive and Washington Avenue is underway. It is anticipated that this work will take approximately 30 days to complete.

Immediately following that, road reconstruction of the segment of North 9th Street between Meadows Avenue and Washington Street is planned to begin. Bids for the work have been received and the Public Works Department recommendation will be submitted to City Council for final approval at the November 3rd Council Meeting. The project will fully reconstruct the asphalt pavement to widen and improve the roadway corridor. This project is funded by the City’s 2A sales tax initiative.

The final phase of the North 9th Street reconstruction project will be to fully reconstruct the roadway from Mystic Avenue to Meadows Avenue. This project will be posted for bids in the coming days with the intent of awarding a contract to allow construction to begin in January of 2026 and all phases of construction to be complete in September 2026. The roadway reconstruction will also be funded by the 2A tax initiative.
