Kessler's Stegosaurus was remounted in 1994 by Kenneth Carpenter who was at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (DMNS). He based his new interpretation of the skeleton based on information from a specimen found further up the gulch from Kessler's find. The specimen was found in 1992 by a team from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and is a nearly complete Stegosaurus stenops and represents the third, and most complete Stegosaurus from Garden Park. Read more about the 1992 discovery in the Small Quarry pages.
The Stegosaurus found by Kessler continues to be on display at the museum in Denver and can be seen in the permanent exhibit Prehistoric Journey.
