Beginning Monday, October 23, 2023, the Cañon City Water Department will begin its annual program of exercising fire hydrants throughout the system.
The purpose of this program is to remove sediment and tuberculation from the water mains, which improves the water quality. Flushing will begin at the western end of the system and work toward the eastern end. It will take about six (6) weeks to complete. You may experience cloudy water or low pressure for a short period of time during this flushing program. Should you have questions, please call the Cañon City Water Department at (719) 269-9022.
