The Canon City Economic Development Department has created an online survey and telephone hotline to help area small business owners navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shut-down. Our mission is to help business owners navigate federal CARES Act funding and to monitor the health of the area business community for current and future economic planning.
The hotline is being staffed by museum and library employees currently on furlough during this coronavirus shut down. Hotline representatives will be conducting the survey by calling local business directly and by answering hotline calls, asking callers to participate. The survey is also available online.
We encourage all area business owners to participate in this survey, so we can develop a strong understanding of the impact of the coronavirus crisis on our business community and overall economy. This information will help us address and plan for business and economic needs after this crisis and provide supporting data for community impact conversations with state and federal economic development officials as we move forward.
Even though this a city economic development initiative, we are also welcoming calls from businesses outside city limits. The more assistance we can provide area business, and the more information we can gather, the better off our entire community will be.
Please participate and have your voices heard!
