The City received a $690,000 grant through CDOT for pedestrian safety and accessibility. This allows the city to install new curb, handicap ramps, and sidewalks on South 9th Street where there currently are none. The City will be starting on the South end of 9th Street at Short Street and working on the west side of the street to Vine. We will then continue back down the east side to make improvements at side road intersections. Work is scheduled to start the week of April 19, 2021 weather permitting, and should be completed by July 4, 2021. Construction will occur on 1-2 blocks at a time. There will be a traffic control plan during construction. We will be working with residents and businesses to keep their driveways open and accessible during this time. Closures to driveways will be intermittent and accommodations will be made for those properties that only have single access. Crews will attempt to complete all work in a way that minimizes disruption within all means possible.
