Community Policing

RockwellThe Cañon City Police Department is a full service, state accredited, contemporary and progressive law enforcement agency dedicated to community policing. We take pride in forming community partnerships, treating all people fairly, being in strict compliance with constitutional standards and reducing the fear of crime throughout our community by utilizing the latest in crime prevention techniques and enforcement initiatives. The Cañon City Police Department currently consists of over 50 professionals who are dedicated to providing public safety and has been providing excellence in police services for over 100 hundred years.

The telephone surveys are conducted by Criminal Justice students from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Our surveys are rated on a scale of 1 through 5 (with 5 being the highest rating). Our 2014 overall rating was 4.9. Please feel free to take our on-line survey (coming soon!). We appreciate your assistance.
