WITHOUT INCREASING ANY TAX CURRENTLY IN EFFECT, SHALL THE CITY OF CAÑON CITY’S ABILITY TO COLLECT AND SPEND ALL REVENUES, NOTWITHSTANDING THE LIMITATIONS UNDER ARTICLE X, SECTION 20 OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW, WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY APPROVED AT THE ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 3, 2009 AND CURRENTLY SET TO EXPIRE ON JANUARY 1, 2020, BE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 1, 2030?

SHALL CITY OF CAÑON CITY’S TAXES BE INCREASED BY FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($400,000.00) ANNUALLY IN THE FIRST FISCAL YEAR (2018), AND BY WHATEVER ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS ARE RAISED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF A LODGING TAX AT THE RATE OF FIVE PERCENT (5%) ON THE PRICE PAID FOR THE LEASING OR RENTAL OF ANY OCCUPIED HOTEL ROOM, MOTEL ROOM, LODGING HOUSE, BED AND BREAKFAST, OR OTHER ACCOMMODATION, AND SHALL ALL REVENUES DERIVED FROM SUCH LODGING TAX BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PROMOTING AND MARKETING TOURISM AND TOURISM RELATED SPECIAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN CAÑON CITY AND THE ROYAL GORGE REGION, AND SHALL THE CITY BE AUTHORIZED TO COLLECT, RETAIN AND SPEND SUCH TAX REVENUES, INCLUDING FOR EACH YEAR, ANY INVESTMENT EARNINGS AND INTEREST ON SUCH REVENUES, AS A VOTER APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE UNDER ARTICLE X, SECTION 20, OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW?
