Investigations

The CCPD has three full-time investigators and one rotation investigator. These investigators are supervised by a Detective Sergeant. One of the full-time investigators is assigned to the Fremont County Combined Drug Task Force and works narcotics investigations exclusively. The other two full-time investigators work major crimes. The rotation investigator is a training slot and is staffed by patrol officers who rotate in for an eight month tour of duty. The rotation detective works with the three full-time investigators doing both generalized and specialized types of investigations.

CCPD investigators work cases generated by the patrol division and any peripheral investigations, such as credit card fraud or identity theft, generated by the Drug Task Force. CCPD investigators also work with the District Attorney's Office, Coroner's Office, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Colorado Department of Corrections CID, and the Fremont County Sheriff's Office as the need arises.
