Temporary Dispatcher

The City of Cañon City is accepting applications for the Temporary Position of Dispatcher for the Cañon City Police Department.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform emergency and non-emergency dispatch services in the Cañon City area. Skills / attributes required are ability to multi-task, utilize computer systems, prioritize calls for service, remain calm in high stress situations, communicate verbally, type at least 40 wpm, and sit for long periods of time.

Qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent with two years experience in an office or law enforcement setting. Position requires applicants to work shift work and ability to adjust to a changing schedule.

Pre-employment drug testing, typing/data entry testing and background check are part of our screening process. Starting salary: $14.89 / hr, no benefits.
