Street Maintenance Worker

 

The City of Cañon City is accepting applications for the position of Street Maintenance Worker for the Street Division in the Public Works Department.  The purpose of this full-time position is to perform a variety of semi-skilled street maintenance and repair duties for the City of Cañon City.  High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in construction, general labor, agriculture, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicants must have a Class A Colorado Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.  The salary starts at $24,801 plus benefits.  Applications must be submitted to City Hall, Human Resources Department, P.O. Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker

The City of Cañon City is accepting applications from qualified persons for the position of Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker for the Parks Department.  The purpose of the full-time, temporary positions are to assist in a wide variety of grounds, landscape and tree maintenance work in parks, cemetery & forestry areas.  Applicants must have a current valid Colorado Driver’s License, and submit to pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.  Hourly pay dependent on experience and type of work.  Several positions are available from March through September and are open until filled.  Applications must be submitted to City Hall, Human Resources Department, P.O. Police Officer Trainee

The City of Cañon City is currently compiling a list of qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer Trainee for the Cañon City Police Department.  Applicants must be 21 years of age, hold a valid Driver’s License and have a High School diploma or equivalent.  Colorado Peace Officer Certification is required.  Applicants must have no prior felony convictions and pass an extensive screening and background investigation.  This position involves shift work, high stress and public contact.  Salary starting at $32,541 - $38,284 + benefits.  Applications must be submitted to City Hall, Human Resources Department, 128 Main Street, P.O. Temporary Part-time Library/Museum Assistant

DATE:  Continuous.

The City of Cañon City accepts applications for part-time temporary Library/Museum Assistant.  Hiring is dependent upon fluctuating staffing needs and funding.  Duties include assisting patrons find materials, checking materials in/out, shelving, collection maintenance, and assisting in the processing and cleaning of materials.  Must have knowledge of and skill in library procedures, assisting patrons, performing a wide variety of library support tasks, and utilizing standard office equipment.   This is an hourly position with no benefits.  Rate of pay is dependent on experience.  Applications must be submitted to City Hall, Human Resources Department, P.O. box 1460, 128 Main Street, Cañon City, CO 81215.  Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application, but may be submitted in addition.  The City of Cañon City is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
